Our first stop was the breathtaking Lofoten Islands. Picture towering mountains, white sand beaches, and picturesque fishing villages — it's like stepping into a postcard. We found that one of the best ways to explore Lofoten is by renting a bike and riding along the coast, soaking in the rugged scenery. A must-visit attraction is the Lofotr Viking Museum, where you can step back in time and experience Viking life. The museum is open daily from 10 AM to 6 PM, and tickets are priced at NOK 220 (about $20 USD). The highlight for us was trying our hand at Viking-style rowing — an unforgettable experience!
The Tranquil Beauty of Saltstraumen

We also made our way to Saltstraumen, home to the world's strongest tidal current. Watching the immense whirlpools swirl as the tide rushed in was both mesmerizing and thrilling. It’s a popular spot for fishing, and if you're into adventure, you can even join a RIB (rigid inflatable boat) safari to get a closer look at the action. These tours cost around NOK 800 (about $75 USD) and operate from April to September. Saltstraumen’s phenomenon is best viewed during high tide, so be sure to check the schedule beforehand to witness this natural spectacle at its peak.
