The Pilat Regional Natural Park, nestled between St Etienne and Lyon, is a cyclist's paradise with its lush greenery and rich natural surroundings. You'll discover a variety of paths, quiet roads, two greenways, and historic mountain passes that are accessible year-round, offering diverse landscapes and breathtaking views.


For mountain bikers, the Pilat is renowned as a premier destination. It boasts 11 passes, including three categorized as 1st class: Oeillon (1233m), Chaubouret (1201m), and Col de la République (1161m). Col de la République holds historical significance as the first Tour de France pass above 1000m altitude, traversed back in 1903.


Mountain biking enthusiasts can explore 35 designated circuits with the FFC (French Cycling Federation) label, ensuring thrilling rides through challenging terrains.


Additionally, the Pilat offers two greenways, Via Fluvia and Via Rhôna, perfect for long-distance cycling or leisurely day trips amid stunning natural beauty.
