Hippocampus is a small marine animal, 5~30cm long. The head is bent at right angles to the body, and the body is like a horse's head. The snout is long, the mouth is small, and there is a dorsal fin. All dorsal fins are composed of fins. The eyes can move independently.

The hippocampus is the only fish that can only swim upright.

The life habits of hippocampus.

Habitat environment.

Most species of seahorses grow at the junction of estuaries and oceans, so they can adapt to different concentrations of seawater, and even live in fresh water.

Activities.

In natural waters, seahorses usually like to live in the slow current of coral reefs. Because they are not good at swimming, they often use their prehensile tails to tightly outline coral branches and seaweed leaves, and fix their bodies to prevent being washed away by torrents.

The seahorse swims beautifully. The fish stands upright in the water and swims slowly (only 1 to 3 meters per minute) by swinging its dorsal and pectoral fins at high frequencies (10 times per second).

The activity of the hippocampus is usually in the daytime (morning and afternoon), and is static at night.

Predation.

The hippocampus must use the arched neck as a spring to twist its head forward to catch prey, which also limits the effective distance for them to catch food. This is only equivalent to the length of the neck, which is 0.1 cm.

However, the hippocampus can use the special shape of its head to approach its prey and capture it. The probability of success exceeds 90%. The mouth of the hippocampus is at the end of the long nose. When moving towards the prey, the waterline close to the snout hardly moves, so the seahorse can sneak close to each other and successfully prey.

Food habits.

The intake of hippocampus is closely related to water temperature and quality. In an appropriate temperature range, if the water temperature is high, the food intake will be large and the digestion speed will be fast.

When the water quality is poor, the food intake will be reduced, or even stop eating.

Incubation work.

Little seahorses hatch from their father's belly.

When the seahorse breeding season comes, the mother of the seahorse will lay eggs in the father's pouch, and the father of the seahorse starts to hatch a small seahorse.

Hippocampus has high medicinal value.

1. Fatigue resistance.

Hippocampus can improve physical exercise ability, delay fatigue, accelerate fatigue recovery, and make people energetic after taking it. It can be used to improve fatigue, memory loss, fatigue and dizziness.

2. Enhance immunity.

Hippocampus can significantly improve the immune capacity of humans and experimental animals. Patients who are prone to illness, cold, cough and asthma due to physical defects can usually take it.

3. Anti aging effect.

Taking hippocampus can delay senility. Seahorses are used as a tonic to prolong life. Long term use has a good health care effect on the middle-aged and elderly.

Enhance the body's resistance to external adverse stimuli and enhance memory.

Seahorse is also a good father.
