With the development of society, people's living conditions are getting better, but environmental protection issues are still serious. Environmental protection seems to be far away from our lives, but in fact, there are many small environmental protection things that can be done .

1. Reject white garbage

Try not to use disposable lunch boxes, chopsticks, plastic bags, etc. When going out, you can bring your own lunch boxes, tea cups, cloth bags and other utensils, and develop the habit of using small handkerchiefs instead of napkins.

In this way, on the one hand, it can reduce the pressure of garbage disposal, on the other hand, it can also reduce the production of plastic products, saving a lot of raw materials, electricity and water resources.

2. Cherish paper

Waste paper is the most wasted resource in our life. It is recommended to classify the paper, newspapers, and books that are usually used. The paper that has been used on one side can be turned over to make scratch paper, note paper, or made into notebooks. Prepare a waste paper storage box next to the printer.

3. Multi-purpose reusable durable goods

Use more durable, reusable items, such as reusable containers for food in the refrigerator, rather than single-use plastic wrap. Bring your own water bottle when you go out to play to reduce the generation of plastic waste.

When traveling or on business trips, bring your own toothbrushes and other sanitary utensils, and do not use the toothbrushes that are replaced every day by the hotel.

4. Protect wild animals

If you love environmental protection, you must refuse to eat wild animals and use wild animal products. Don't eat at restaurants that eat wild animals.

Do not wear rare animal fur clothing, do not use wild animal plant products, such as ivory, tiger bones, mahogany furniture, etc. To protect nature is to protect ourselves, and to build a nature reserve in each of us.

5. Save water resources

When washing hands and soap, we'd better turn off the faucet, try not to turn on the faucet to wash dishes or wash clothes, and if you see a leaking faucet, you must fasten it.

Use secondary water as much as possible. For example, the first time you wash vegetables, you can water flowers, and the water after washing can be left behind to wipe the floor, flush the toilet, etc.

6. Reduce the standby time of electrical appliances

Computers, TVs, water heaters, air conditioners, washing machines and other household appliances are completely powered off when they are not in use.

There is data to prove that these household appliances will continue to consume power when they are in standby state. Turn off the unused appliances at will to save power resources.

7. Pay attention to light consumption

The light consumed by the average home can account for 15% to 20% of the household electricity bill, so you should only use it when you need it, and turn it off when you don't use it.

When purchasing new lighting equipment, please try to consider energy-saving light bulbs. Fluorescent lamps have the characteristics of high luminous efficiency, soft light, long life and low power consumption, so try to use fluorescent lamps instead of incandescent lamps.

8. Recycling

Old clothes and shoes that are no longer worn can be recycled instead of being thrown into the trash. More than 1 billion tons of used clothes are dumped into landfills globally each year, generating 2 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions each year, according to a report.

If these old clothes are recycled in an environmentally friendly way, it can not only avoid waste of resources, but also reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
