With the advent of the knowledge economy and the accelerated pace of life, more and more people are sitting and working. People spend more time sitting in chairs than sleeping in beds every day. Sitting for a long time can cause different degrees of damage to the body, such as:

1. Heart damage

Sitting for long periods of time slows down blood circulation, leading to a decline in heart function and atrophy of the heart muscle.

Especially for middle-aged and elderly people with arteriosclerosis and other diseases, the slow blood circulation caused by prolonged sitting is most likely to induce myocardial infarction and cerebral thrombosis.

2. Damage the kidneys

Sitting for a long time will cause the abdominal cavity of the human body to bear huge pressure, and the blood circulation of the abdominal cavity and the lower body will be blocked, resulting in poor blood circulation in the body.

At the same time, sitting for a long time will compress the bladder meridian, causing the bladder meridian qi and blood to run poorly, and the kidney meridian and the bladder meridian are in and out. Sitting for a long time will lead to bladder dysfunction, which in turn will harm the kidneys and cause renal dysfunction.

3. Injury to the lumbar spine

Sitting for a long time, the neck, shoulders, back and back continue to maintain a fixed posture will increase the pressure on the lumbar spine and its intervertebral disc, thereby accelerating the degeneration of the lumbar spine and causing the rupture of the intervertebral disc, which can lead to lumbar disc herniation and other diseases.

At the same time, people tend to forget to adjust their incorrect body posture in time when working in front of the computer. This puts the lumbar intervertebral disc in a high pressure state for many years, causing great damage to the lumbar spine, and it is easy to accelerate the formation of a hunchback and lead to bone hyperplasia.

4. Damage the liver

Sitting still for a long time will make the body unable to consume a lot of calories and fat, which can easily lead to fatty liver.

At the same time, long-term use of computers, watching TV, watching mobile phones, or reading books for a long time is a long-term vision, which will cause overuse of the eyes and damage to the liver.

Even if you have to sit in a chair frequently because of work, maintain the correct posture.

The first is that the head and neck should look straight ahead with both eyes, and keep the line of sight parallel to the top of the computer screen (or the upper 1/3 of the display), so that when you need to look at the text or images below the screen, the head will naturally sag , no need to tighten your neck. It should be reminded that you must look directly at the screen and do not twist your upper body. This twist between the shoulders and hips can easily put pressure on the body.

Finally, the arms and elbows should be placed on the armrests of the chair, which can cause the shoulders to curl up and cause pain. So the arms should be kept at a height that allows the shoulders to move forward and backward, up and down, without having to reach for the mouse and keyboard.

After sitting for a long time, you can move your body, such as turning your neck or stretching your waist, which can speed up blood circulation, stretch the muscles of the whole body, eliminate excessive tension of the psoas muscles, correct the excessive forward bending of the spine, and maintain a healthy body.
